Harper had his first performance last week. I was a bit nervous as he has not fully cultivated the “entertain on demand” gene that his I (his father) has. Harper has been taking a type of tumbling class over the past several month from a local theater company call Do Jump. If given the chance you should absolutely check these folks out. When it came down to it Harper rocked he was such a performer. He was so proud.

For those of you who have known me for a while and had spent at least 10 seconds in the cottage where i grew up will understand the importance of the photo below.

Just a quick note to show you our trip to the Oregon Coast over thanksgiving weekend.

Cheers http://www.timlabargephotography.com/gallery/thanksgiving/

Thanks to my kiwi buddy Graeme for the idea….

Here is a photo album to get you all up to speed…

So it goes here in the northwest, dramatic weather changes day by day. One day 104 the next barely in the 70’s. Last weekend we did whatever it took to stay cool whether it was redneckin’ in Milk Creek out at Justin and Martha’s Milk Creek or slip and sliding at grandma’s house celebrating her 60th birthday. Slip n slideI have often surmised that the heat makes a man mad and if true then this weekend Harper and company were loony. Kathleen couldn’t answer my “deep” question. Maybe it was too early in the morning or too early in her 60th year but my question still stands: “What has happened in the last 60 years that you feel is the most significant change or difference in the world?” you know that one things you thing about and say “man i never thought i would live to see the day” Well the question still stands. Strangely enough I know 4 people that have turned 60 in the last year(and a half) so what say ye. More importantly we finished off the volcano cake and proceeded to answer the question at hand. How the hell do we stay cool without air conditioning.

These are all just grand memories. Rain, cooler temperatures, and several bowls of soup have slowly let sanity creep back into place. Sane are the Eskimos.

Tim posted a slide show from his point of view.

This one deserved it’s own post.

Hey y’all

Harper and I got a chance to spend some quality time together last weekend. Jodessa had to work but I believe was looking forward to spending some time at the house alone (first time since H was born).

I love spontaneous trips. Most of the time anything I plan falls through so last minute trips leave no second guessing or over planning. It began with a quick call from Tim and family to let us know they were heading over to the the Wheeler County Bluegrass festival. Without hesitation we were in. We loaded up Big red and crammed 5 adults (loosely speaking and by age only) and 5 little ones (ages 4.5, 4, 2.87, 1 and 1.ish) all of our gear some tunes and supplies for weekend and headed out for our 3 hour ride to Central Oregon.

Fossil is a small town named after, you guessed it, fossils. Now when i mention music festival most folks will think BIG. I would guess that at it biggest the crowd was about 300 including vendors and passerbys.

A my memory’s are grand from the weekend mix with regret that Jodessa was unable to join us and unfortunately had a crazy weekend at work.

Hey all!

Just got back from an incredible weekend with H-man and posse. More on that later. Just wanted to point you to a great post that Miss Ingu posted about Harper’s first half of his summer break. I will fill you in about our trip to Eastern OR (Fossil) to catch a bluegrass festival.

cheers!!
